on
DAMPA® Space is designed to create ’rooms within rooms.’ It can be opened and
closed as needed and used as a private
workspace, a creative station, or an active
display surface.
Liv Bach Henriksen, Architect MAA and
Head of Educational Architecture at Kjaer
& Richter, explains:
“Space helps create a safe and enclosed
workstation. When the doors are opened,
it supports focus and immersion. When
closed, Space becomes a calm, visual
surface in the room, which can also be
used actively for display.”
The need for inclusive learning environments
There is a growing need for inclusive learning spaces. An increasing number of
children and young people are diagnosed
with learning difficulties, and political focus
is on ensuring that pupils with special needs are included in convensional education wherever possible.
This calls for new solutions where the physical environment actively supports calm,
safety, and flexibility and this is precisely
where DAMPA® Space makes a difference.
By enabling temporary zones and providing both visual and acoustic shielding,
DAMPA® Space fosters a sense of safety
and concentration without isolating users
from the shared environment.
Acoustic calm in active spaces
Space is based on DAMPA’s acoustic wall
panels, DAMPA® Silent Board, and meets
the requirements for acoustic class A.
This means the unit not only defines physical zones but also reduces reverberation
time and improves the overall acoustic quality - a crucial factor in learning and office
environments.
Designed with both aesthetics and
function in mind
DAMPA® Space is developed with a strong
focus on both aesthetics and functionality.
All materials have been carefully selected
for their durability, appearance, and practical performance.
In addition to its acoustic benefits, the doors are also fire-resistant.
The worktop is made of solid FSC®-certified plywood, while the back panel includes a bulletin board that can be used as a
pinboard or display surface.
The front, handles, and back panel are
available in a range of colours, allowing for
playful and expressive interior design.
