Manufacturing And Packaging (A1-A3)
The environmental impacts considered for the product stage cover the manufacturing of raw
materials used in the production as well as packaging materials and other ancillary materials. Also,
fuels used by machines, and handling of waste formed in the production processes at the
manufacturing facilities are included in this stage. The study also considers the material losses
occurring during the manufacturing processes as well as losses during electricity transmission.
The aluminium ceilings are manufactured through a continuous and quality-controlled industrial
process.
In A1 (raw material supply), raw aluminium is extracted and processed into coil form. Glass wool
insulation is produced separately from silica sand and recycled glass through high-temperature
melting and fiberization processes. Insultation and powder coatings are also included in this stage.
All materials are procured from suppliers with certified environmental management systems where
available. In A2 (transport), the raw materials are transported to the production facility, by truck.
Transport distances and loading efficiencies are optimized to reduce the environmental burden.
In A3 (manufacturing), the is perforated and bend or roll-formed into the desired ceiling type. If not
pre-coated, the visible surfaces are powder-coated after a surface cleaning process. The panels
are then inspected and prepared for shipment. All components are manufactured in accordance
with EN 13964 and TAIM e.V. technical guidelines (THM). The use of green energy in
manufacturing is demonstrated through contractual instruments (GOs, RECs, etc.), and its use is
ensured throughout the validity period of this EPD.
Products are packaged in recyclable cardboard boxes, with accessories bundled separately.
Packaging materials are selected for ease of sorting and recycling.
