The panels would be available to order as 90 mm square
tiles, or in modular lengths of up to six metres, their backing
being a pad of mineral wool on silk paper. Three versions
would be made – one with a perforated encasement, another unperforated and a third with ventilation slits – and these
could be used in combination, as a client desired. As the
length of each mounting module was 72 centimetres, the
system – which was the world’s first of its kind – was promoted as ‘Dæmpa 72’ (or D-72).
With a view to licensing the design for manufacture elsewhere, patents were acquired in as many industrialised and
industrialising countries as possible.
