Sustainability can also be thought of as involving social
inclusivity. A 2022 Danish survey found that nearly eleven
per cent of the population – amounting to just over half-amillion people – has impaired hearing and, for those over 18,
it is almost 13 per cent. In the UK, one in three people have
hearing impairment and in the USA it is around one in five.

For the many millions affected, the specification of acoustic
ceilings and walls transforms audibility and enables participation in conversations that would otherwise be drowned
out by ambient noise. For society as a whole, pleasant
soundscapes result in lowered levels of stress and enhanced
ability to concentrate with consequently increased productivity.
The acoustics of interior spaces are thus as important as
their aesthetics, illumination, temperature and ventilation –
and DAMPA products neatly address all of these aspects
necessary for comfortable existence.
