In the centre of Odense, adjacent to the railway station,
Borgernes Hus (‘The Citizens’ House’) by AI Architects was
inaugurated in 2018 as a new social and cultural hub for the
citizenry, comprising a municipal library, activity rooms and
spaces for meetings and events. Outside and in, the building exudes a warm glow and its interior, centred upon a feature stairway, features DAMPA® Lamella ceilings matching
the vertical strips from which the balustrades are composed.
DAMPA® Lamella was also specified for the ceilings of the
Stauning Whisky distillery, located in the countryside near
Skjern in Western Jutland. Designed by Loop Architects and
opened in 2019, its external forms reflect the characteristics
of the local rural environment and contain airy spaces with
dark lamellas, forming a backdrop to the copper stills.
