A new
beginning
In the 2012-2013 financial year, DAMPA broke even and in
the following year, it recorded its first profit for five years. In
2015, the profit was 5 million on a 75 million kroner turnover.
In 2016, DAMPA® Clip-In Custom and DAMPA® Lamella ceilings were installed in the University of Southern Denmark’s
new Danish Institute for Advanced Study (DIAS), an interdisciplinary research centre designed by ZESO Architects with
a large foyer, connecting all functions and facilities for easy
orientation.
In the same year, a very substantial order for marine ceilings
was received from the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Nagasaki
shipyard in Japan for ceilings in two new large cruise ships
under construction there – the AIDA Prima and AIDA Perla –
for the German AIDA Cruises brand of Carnival Corporation.
The shipyard, which was attempting to enter the cruise ship
construction market, required a great deal of advice from
DAMPA and this absorbed much management time.
The diversion of attention from day-to-day activities had a
negative effect on the result in 2017, but, following a renewed
focus on costs and efficiency, in 2018 and 2019, improved
sales, turnover and profits were achieved.
