A third was the ARoS gallery of modern art in Aarhus, which
Schmidt Hammer Lassen designed. In this period, DAMPA
also supplied panels for the 8-House, an innovative block of
flats, planned in a figure-of-eight shape by the up-and-coming firm of Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) in Copenhagen’s rapidly-developing Ørestad district and completed in 2010. The
project attracted widespread attention and contributed to
Ingels’ rapid rise to international fame.
Others to which DAMPA contributed were the Skybar and
Sushi Restaurant of the Tivoli Congress Center in Copenhagen by Kim Utzon, a bar at the summit of the 23-storey Bella
Sky hotel at Copenhagen’s Bella Center by 3XN and the
headquarters of the wind turbine maker Vestas by Arkitema,
the latter being completed in 2011.
