Several high-profile commissions were carried out during
this period, one of which was to supply ceilings for the new
Copenhagen opera house ‘Operaen’, the construction of
which on a prominent harbourfront site in Christianshavn
was funded by A. P. Møller og Hustru Chastine Mc-Kinney
Møller’s Fond til almene Formaal with Henning Larsen as
architect.
Another was a new complex for the national broadcaster
DR, for which Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects devised a masterplan comprising four interlinked buildings, three of which
were by other architects, namely Dissing+Weitling, Gottlieb
Paludan and Nobel and the French Jean Nouvel, who
designed the Concert Hall.
